Artist Statement:

For the past few years, my work has been consistently evolving around the theme of patterns in the natural world, and how these patterns parallel the human experience. More specifically, I am interested in our collective experiences, and the acts of being engaged, connected and present with nature and natural forms.  Colors, shapes, and the repetition of small marks in my work become methods to record connections between our basic states of being and the symmetry, movement, and processes I find in nature.  Through countless washes and thin layers of paint the surface builds, leaving a history of lines, networks, and structures in various degrees of visibility. This painted and drawn history describes stilled movements of energy systems; bodily, synthetic, and organic.
