Artist Statement:

Our current culture overloads and bombards our senses with instant information, countless images, and distracting consumable objects. However, what is immediately seen and collected cannot be entirely comprehended - to truly understand our experiences we need time and space to reflect. I paint and draw to counter the experience of a fast paced, technologically saturated culture. Through the use of simple forms, layered color, and intricate patterns, I compose spaces and images where quietness is palpable and the seemingly simple act of slowing down to look allows for reflection.
